Up in Arms for Family Fun (*)

Go: The Arms and Armor Family Event at the Philadelphia Museum of Art (at Philadelphia)
Please check the Web site for updated information.

Sunday will include a full day of activities and fun at the Philadelphia Museum of Art with the Arms and Armor Family Event. Starting at 10:30 A.M., children can enjoy medieval times with artist demonstrations and the expertise of historian Paul Newman. He will show visitors how to wear a full suit of armor and will reveal secrets from that period in history. Techniques used by both age-old and modern-day blacksmiths will be displayed, as will sketches of museum arms and armor collections. A Drawing Together session will start at noon, and a make-and-take craft workshop will run throughout the day. Allow your kids to revel in the fine arts, educational lessons and hands-on creativity, all under the guise of a cool Sunday afternoon. A full schedule of activities is available online.
