It’s just not Christmastime in the city without a glimpse of the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival in downtown Chicago. Check out a parade, a bevy of free concerts and more than 1 million holiday lights (starting at 7:00 P.M.) along north Michigan Avenue from Oak Street to Wacker Drive. Then take in a spectacular fireworks show over the Chicago River. Of course, the real perk that completes this late November happening is the fact that you’re in the middle of a shopaholic’s paradise. The Mag Mile is the spot to be for early yuletide browsing, buying and begging. Oh, and as an added bonus, Mickey Mouse and some of his pals will be at this annual fest, too, so the kiddies will be easily distracted while you peruse store windows and add items to your list for Santa.
It’s Christmastime in the City . . .
