So what if you don’t have plans to pound the pavement this Sunday during the famed Chicago Marathon? That doesn’t mean you can’t take the opportunity to head to Grant Park and cheer on athletes from all over the world who will be breaking a sweat! Being a spectator at this race is an unforgettable experience and is a chance to teach your kids about athletic endurance, good sportsmanship and how hard work truly pays off once you reach the finish line/achieve a goal. The marathon is slotted to last approximately six hours, though you’ll want to get there by about 7:50 A.M. to secure a good spot that will allow you to see everyone sprinting over the starting line. Oh, and you probably should consider packing bottled water and something to munch on; just because you’re not dashing around town doesn’t mean you won’t need a little refreshment!
